In the Beginning
READ: Genesis 1 in your Bible.
Overview: God speaks the universe into existence over six days — light, sky, land, plants, sun and moon, sea creatures and birds, land animals, and finally human beings made in His image. On the seventh day, He rests.

Life Connection
Social media and comparison culture constantly tell you that your worth depends on likes, looks, or achievements. Genesis 1 says otherwise: your value was settled before you did anything, simply because God made you in His image.

God creates by speaking — no struggle, no raw materials needed. Also notice that humans are the only part of creation described as being made “in God's image.”

Why this verse matters: It's the very first sentence of the Bible, and it settles the biggest question of all — everything starts with God.
My Prayer
God, You made the stars, the oceans, and me — all on purpose. Help me remember today that I matter because You made me, not because of what I do or what others think. Amen.
